Congratulations to all the girls who displayed their hard work at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in the RDS last week. The school had a very impressive eight projects on display this year and the quality of work was extremely high.
Special congratulations to:
Susie Gill, Sarah Kelly and Rachel Lynch from 1st year who won a Highly Commended award for their project “Investigating the weight change of 1st year bags due to iPads”.
Anna Clarke, Hannah Mulgrew and Alex Phelan from first year, who also won a Highly Commended award for their “Investigation into the use of helmets on Dublin Bikes”.
Hana Gallagher from 2nd year who won a Display Award for her very creative presentation.
Kate and Annie Madden, from 1st and 3rd year, who won 2nd in the Intermediate Biological Sciences category for their ” Investigation into adding flavours to horse feeds”.
And to Claire Gregg 1st year, who won 1st place in her category (Junior Chemical, Physical and Mathematical Sciences) and also won the Google Best Female award for her work on “Investigating the spread of Ebola using agent-based modelling”.
Again, congratulations to the students and to their teachers for the wonderful work and for representing the school so well in the RDS – you did us all proud!
