On Thursday 26th November there was great excitement in the school as forty of our Past Pupils attended their 10 Year Reunion get-together. The group was amazed at all the changes in the school building as many hadn't returned since 2005. Many of the girls hadn't seen one another since the summer of 2005.
The girls were welcomed by 5th Years in the canteen and were provided with light refreshments as they chatted for a while. They were then brought on tours around the school by the 5th Years. They were particularly interested in seeing their old classrooms, and they loved the new seats and tables. They reminisced on times spent in the Common Room and were enthralled by the new Art's Block. Having completed their mini tour they were directed to the Assembly Hall where they enjoyed a trip down memory lane. Some of our TYs had sifted through the 6 Year Books of their time in the school and selected a multitude of photos/poems/artwork etc. attributed to the group, which they organised into a lovely slide show. The music accompanying the slide show was two of the most popular songs of 2005–'Wake me up when September ends' by Green Day and 'Speed of Sound' by Coldplay.
It was a very special evening for all involved. The group continued their celebrations in 'House' on Leeson Street. Special thanks to Sarah Fynes and our TYs, namely Anna Meehan and Suzanne Masterson, for organising the slide show and Gemma Dolan and Aisling Coarse for the beautifully designed banner. The work they put in was exemplary as was the dedication and work put in by our 5th Years, namely Emer McEntee, Clíodhna Murtagh, Caoilann McDaid, Grace Given, Ciara O'Brien, Kate Conway and Doireann Boylan. A huge thank you to Aideen for all her work with the slide show and music and to Rosemary for providing the refreshments for the girls. Thanks also to the teachers who were there to chat to the girls. They loved reminiscing on their time in school.
