The Loreto Swimming Gala took place on Thursday the 24th of November in The National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown. Our team comprised of students from 1st to 6th year and our team of Transition Year supporters.
There were three age groups; u14, u16 and u18 and in each age group there were four events; freestyle, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly, as well as two freestyle relays. Everyone swam very well and four girls qualified for the finals of their strokes. The supporters were very enthusiastic and chanted throughout everyone’s races.
Overall it was a very enjoyable day. Everyone swam to the best of their ability and we had a great team spirit. We would like to thank Ms. Hoffman and Ms Crinion for accompanying us on the day of the gala.
We look forward to the annual Loreto Swimming Gala next year and hopefully we will win the Spirit Award!!
