On Wednesday 4th September, Mimi, Brenda, Mollie, Maria, Molly and Mr. Fitzgerald began the first day of the Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. It was a most enriching experience for all of us. We undertook many duties during our 5 days, including bringing our VIPs (pilgrims) to Masses, to the Grotto, to the Processions or simply having a chat outside the Acceuil (Hospital). We also worked as stewards to ensure the transport of pilgrims to and from all the events was hassle free. During our 5 days we got to know blueshirts (6th Years Students helping) from a multitude of schools in Dublin, as well as meeting up with school past pupils who continue to return to help every year. At the end of the day the whole school groups had time to reflect during Prairie (Reflection Time) which gave us all a chance to think of the many special moments we shared with people throughout the day.
We really enjoyed the Pilgrimage and we can’t wait to return in the future.
