Message from Loreto Rumbek
This month has been a strange reality for us, just as we were settling into the New Year, the country was hit with a second wave of Covid. Many of our programmes have had to close, or be readjusted under the new measures. Thankfully the Primary School National examinations took place just before lock-down.
Our Secondary School is boarding and operational, though staff and students are in lockdown, in the compound. The Ministry of Health have requested that our clinic re-open, welcoming the local community. Currently we are receiving over two hundred new patients a day. Thankfully we have been able to design a way to separate the Clinic from the School.
Our first wave of coronavirus last year seemed to miss us, we are not so lucky this year. We are already hearing and seeing cases of Covid in the local community. There is talk of vaccines, no sign of them yet. Our clinic team remain committed to serving the poorest of the poor, while promising to protect themselves.
We thank you for your ongoing support, please continue with your prayers and good wishes and we do our best to serve the community. We continue to hope and pray that you and all dear to you are safe and well,
Blessings and sincere thanks from all of us in Loreto Rumbek
