It was a great pleasure for the school and the EMBER team in particular to host a workshop by Trocaire in the school today.
Our EMBER team were delighted to welcome over 50 student colleagues from St Dominic’s College, Cabra, St Mary’s in Rathmines and Warrenmount College. They were accompanied by their own teachers and Fr. Paul Thornton from Cabra parish.
We had guest speakers from Trocaire, the Catholic Aid agency and our main speaker, Salome Mumba (Trocaire), came from Malawi to explain to the attendees the huge challenges her country faces due to water scarcity.
Her experience certainly put into perspective how privileged we are in Ireland to have such ease of access to water each and every day.
Trocaire’s Lenten campaign this year is entitled “Let Justice flow like a River, righteousness like a never-failing stream” (Amos 5:24). This campaign focuses on the issues of climate justice, particularly water justice, in Malawi.
A huge thank you to the EMBER team for their assistance and all the teachers concerned.
