Green Committee play an active role in promoting a sustainable and environmentally friendly school environment.  As part of the Green Schools programme we have recently achieved our Green Flag for Travel and we will be beginning our work towards our next Green Flag which revolves around the theme of Biodiversity.  Our city centre location ensures that we have numerous options  for students and staff to travel sustainably to school – be it by bus, train, bicycle or on foot. Among other things, our members actively promote sustainable travel among members of our school community.

Other campaigns that Green Committee have recently been involved in include the Globe Clean Air Campaign – an experiment aimed at measuring the levels of air pollution around our school environment and the An Taisce Spring Clean wherein we conducted a litter picking campaign along the banks of the Grand Canal. Green Committee allows students to not only raise awareness regarding vital environmental issues but to play an active role in tackling these issues and creating a cleaner, greener environment for generations to come.
