Pupils from First to Sixth Years play on school Basketball teams.  The season begins in September and runs through until the Easter holidays.  The Green plays in the Loreto League and Dublin Schools Competition and generally has between 10 and 12 teams – approximately 120 students each year.

Training takes place once a week after school and every Saturday.  Matches for the Loreto League, in which the girls play against other Loreto schools, takes place on Saturdays, while the Dublin Schools Competition matches are played mid-week.  The Green has a good standard in the sport and all the girls are expected to work very hard.  Many pupils have played at Dublin and Irish Schools Teams level.
